Aptal 

Is an Italian-Greek musical trio that has achieved several successes and boasts prestigious cooperations.

The group consists of three members: Marco Corbino at the acoustic guitar and fretless, Vassily Kakos at the giuras, baglama and Arab oud, and Giorgio Rizzo who plays darboka, zarb, bendir, doumbak, and nay flute.

Their work is a mix of original pieces and revisitations of traditional songs. Their music is a hybrid style that ranges from the Arab to the Persian world, from the Turkish to the Greek and the Balkan, with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern sounds. Their first record, Aptalikamente, in co-production with “Officine Musicali Amaronesi”, goes back to 2007.

The band has participated to various concerts and conferences about the Arabic world, held by the University of Catania - Political Science and Liberal Arts College.  They have also partaken in numerous Festivals, such as “Taranta Power”;  “Sete sois sete Luas”; "Festival ”Negro”; Festival dell’Editoria Indipendente “DeScritto”; “Lithos”Festival by Carlo Muratori;" “Peleariza” Festival; “Giffoni Film Festival”.  Furthermore, they have collaborated with Mario Incudine and Hevia of the Verdura Theater in Palermo. 

The trio has composed the song "Stearika" for the movie "Grande, Grosso e Verdone" as well as the soundtrack for the latest Claudio Fausti's film "Meridiano Perduto", produced by Centro Culturale Majaze'. Additionally, together with MotoMimetico, they have created a revisited version of Bolero, the famous Ravel's musical score. They also collaborate with various Middle Eastern dance companies such as: Lolie Vernet-Senhadj, Sara e le donne di Arart.
